An injured tramper has been winched from the Tararua Ranges The 61-year-old man fell and broke his leg late yesterday afternoon. One of his companions walked out to raise the alarm. Bad weather prevented a helicopter going in last night so a rescue team walked in to keep him comfortable overnight until the Westpac Rescue Helicopter could fly him out today.
