Scott Dixon has finished sixth in the season-opening race of the IndyCar championship in Sao Paulo.

It was a topsy-turvy race for the 2008 Indy Car champion, who crashed on the opening lap before fighting back to second at one stage.

Australian Will Power has won, ahead of American Ryan Hunter-Reay and Brazilian Vitor Meira.

Defending IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti has finished seventh, one place behind Dixon.
