New season, old problems for Warriors

A good first half, an average second half, but some solid new halves for the Warriors.

After leading 18-12 at the break on the back of two tries from Manu Vatuvei and one from Kevin Locke, a couple of costly slip ups saw the Auckland club lose 24-18 to the Titans in their NRL season opener on the Gold Coast.

Stand-in captain Michael Luck says it is almost a relief to get the first game out of the way after having a long break when they missed the playoffs last year.

Luck says they lacked concentration at crucial times but despite the loss, Luck is thrilled with the new halves combination of James Maloney and Brett Seymour.

The Sydney Roosters have hammered South Sydney 36-10.

Wests Tigers and Manly square off tonight.
