Homicide inquiry launched as man dies

12/03/2010 15:40:01

Police have now launched a homicide inquiry into the death of an Auckland man.

Paul Kingi was admitted to Auckland Hospital on Wednesday after falling from a balcony at a flat in Glen Innes.

He died last night.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard says a post mortem examination has revealed the cause of death for the 57-year-old was blunt force trauma to the head.

Two men have already appeared in court charged with assault.

Mr Beard says police will decide whether further charges will be laid after the investigation is complete.
