Rower battling to reach shore

12/03/2010 14:36:01

There is a risk the adventurer trying to row across the Tasman may miss New Zealand altogether.

Shaun Quincey departed Australia on January 20 and planned to come ashore on the Taranaki coast. His father completed the feat back in 1977.

On Mr Quincey's website it says he is drifting north at an alarming rate and he is now expected to land at Ninety Mile Beach.

Mr Quincey says his determination has spawned some much needed energy and he will have to dig deep over the next few days. He also jokes that failing that, Fiji is looking like a good option.
