Foodstuffs found to have misled consumers

12/03/2010 9:20:02

The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a complaint by supermarket chain Progressive about an ad run by its competitor.

The complaint related to Foodstuffs' chain Pak'nSave, which claimed in an Auckland newspaper that it produced the cheapest shopping basket, based on the results of a survey.

Progressive complained the survey result was in fact only for Pak'nSave's Albany store. The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled the advertisement used survey findings which were misleading to the consumer.
