Familiar concerns for Black Caps

Black Caps captain Daniel Vettori is defending the decision to reshuffle the batting line-up for the fourth Chappell-Hadlee one-dayer at Eden Park.

Australia chased down a rain-revised target of 200 off 34 overs under the Duckworth/Lewis system, reaching the target with six wickets and more than to overs to spare to clinch the series 3-1.

Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, Scott Styris and Vettori were all moved up the order, while James Franklin was demoted to eight and Peter Ingram and Neil Broom were dropped.

Apart from a brief foray from Guptill, none of the changes paid off in the six wicket loss and Vettori says they think they have the batting order right, but the individuals simply did not do their jobs. He says they got off to a fantastic start and played with freedom, but in the end they lost too many wickets and put themselves under pressure.

The two sides head to Wellington today for tomorrow's series finale.
