Changes in the wind for SuperGold card

11/03/2010 14:16:02

There are cuts in store for Winston Peters' SuperGold transport card.

Transport Minister Steven Joyce says changes are needed for the free off-peak public transport component, as the cost of running it is too high.

A review is currently looking at the definition of 'off-peak' and the eligibility of high cost services like the Waiheke Ferry and Wellington to Wairarapa train service.

The aim is to keep the scheme within its available $18 million a year budget.
