Ellis to miss Chiefs clash

One of the most anticipated showdowns in Friday night's Super 14 match between the Crusaders and the Chiefs in Hamilton will not take place.

Andy Ellis has been ruled out of the Crusaders starting line-up because of a head knock, meaning he will not get to square-off against fellow All Blacks halfback Brendon Leonard.

Kahn Fotuali'i will start at halfback in Ellis' absence.

Lock Isaac Ross returns to the starting 15 in place of Sam Whitelock.

There is no place for former All Blacks lock Chris Jack in the 22, meaning he will spend another week playing for the Crusaders' development side.
