Kiwi rower fights tough winds in Tasman

09/03/2010 16:04:01

Kiwi rower Shaun Quincey is fighting frustrating winds as he tries to follow in the footsteps of his father and row across the Tasman Sea.

Shaun started in Australia on January 20 and is currently around 460 kilometres west of Manukau Harbour.

He reports strong south westerly winds have made it tough, as four days ago he was approximately the same distance west of Taranaki.

His website www.tasmantrespasser.com reports he will most likely land in the Kaipara area, rather than Taranaki as he had originally hoped.
