Thorn and Ellis in doubt for Crusaders

09/03/2010 5:32:01

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder is optimistic he will have a full complement of players to choose from for Friday's Super 14 showdown with the Chiefs in Hamilton.

Lock Brad Thorn and Andy Ellis are both in doubt for the match, after sustaining injuries during Saturday night's win over the Blues.

Blackadder says Thorn's shoulder appears to be improving. He says Thorn was pretty sore after the game but has improved and will hopefully be available for selection.

Ellis suffered a head knock against the Blues and Blackadder says he will be monitored and tested and will only play if 100 per cent fit.

Veteran lock Chris Jack has also declared himself available. Jack is on the comeback from a wrist injury and played 70 minutes for a Crusaders development side at the weekend.

However, Blackadder says he does not want to rush Jack into the side and risk further injury.
