Taxpayers are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars treating teachers who have been assaulted at schools. Figures released under the Official Information Act, show 442 teachers needed ACC-funded treatment in 2008 and 2009. About $413,000 was spent over the two years. The most expensive claim was for an assault in 2008, worth about $124,000.
