![]() Photosport After being clocked by the speed gun for the first time, Black Caps paceman Andy McKay is now targeting the 150km/hr barrier. The left-armer has reached speeds approaching 150km/hr in his first two one-day internationals against Bangladesh. McKay says before he played his first international he had no idea of his pace. "I thought I might have been in the 140s - but the high 140s I was pretty happy with. So yeah, that was all good." McKay thinks he can surpass the 150km/hr mark, as bowling coach Shane Jurgensen has identified a few technical aspects of his delivery stride which can be improved. He is starting to dream about facing Australia after seemingly cementing himself in the Black Caps' ODI line-up. As well as reaching high speeds, he has picked up four wickets in the two matches. McKay says Australia will be the true test. "They're the benchmark in my eyes, so it would be great to have a shot against them." The rookie may be the solution to the Black Caps' ongoing death bowling woes. The only concern out of the second one-day win over Bangladesh was the amount of runs conceded in the last five overs. Black Caps coach Mark Greatbatch says he and captain Daniel Vettori will discuss the possibility of McKay bowling at the death. "He bowled exceptionally well up front yesterday. And really troubled the batters with pace and enough swing both ways to make batters actually quite uncomfortable." The Black Caps have arrived in Christchurch for Thursday's final one-dayer against Bangladesh. Otago off-spinner Nathan McCullum has been called into the squad for Daryl Tuffey, who is nursing a hamstring injury.
